America's Warrior Partnership Endorses President Trump's Executive Order to Empower Veterans and Prevent Suicide
Focus on community support and research aligns with America's Warrior Partnership initiatives, including Operation Deep Dive and Community Integration Playbook
WASHINGTON, March 6, 2019 (Newswire.com) - America’s Warrior Partnership announced its endorsement of the executive order signed by President Donald Trump yesterday to establish the Veteran Wellness, Empowerment, and Suicide Prevention Task Force. The task force will develop a roadmap to help veterans achieve an improved quality of life and strengthen research projects to prevent suicide among veterans.
“Since our inception, America’s Warrior Partnership has advocated for a holistic approach to empowering our communities with the resources they need to effectively serve all veterans, and President Trump’s order is a promising step forward,” said Jim Lorraine, president and CEO of America’s Warrior Partnership. “The task force’s focus on research and community collaboration will greatly amplify the work of groups across the country, including Operation Deep Dive, a suicide prevention study we are currently conducting with the University of Alabama and the Bristol Myers-Squibb Foundation.”
The task force’s roadmap will include strategic policies and resource allocations to drive more effective coordination of available services to veterans. Proposals will guide new research collaborations to identify the factors that contribute to veteran suicide, as well as issue grants to support local communities in implementing new service programs.

Our approach has impacted nearly 47,000 veterans across our affiliate communities since 2014, so we are very encouraged by the potential this roadmap has to amplify that benefit for veterans across the country.
