America's Warrior Partnership Opens 2020 Annual Survey for Communities to Voice Opinions on Resources for Military Veterans

Sponsored by Bank of America, the survey empowers community organizations with guidance on building programs that are responsive to local veteran populations

America’s Warrior Partnership today announced that its 2020 Community Integration Annual Survey Report is seeking participants for a study on the state of community resources that serve military veterans. From now until Feb. 14, all veterans, their family members, caregivers and advocates are invited to take the online survey and share their insights on the quality and availability of veteran-serving programs in their community.

The 2020 Annual Survey is sponsored by Bank of America and designed to deliver organizations the insights they need to better understand and engage the veterans they serve. Since launching the survey in 2015, the insights provided by participants have empowered communities to markedly improve the breadth and quality of services accessible to local veterans.

“Our survey puts a spotlight on veteran thoughts and experiences to ensure they are common knowledge among the decision-makers who create veteran-serving programs,” said Jim Lorraine, president and CEO of America’s Warrior Partnership. “Thanks to the support of our community partners, we have unearthed valuable insights year after year. For example, our findings have shown that the most sought-after resources among veterans center on opportunities for recreation, networking and volunteerism. Communities that have heeded these findings and prioritized programs addressing these areas have reported a notable increase in veterans’ hopefulness for the future.”

Survey findings from previous years have directly influenced the creation of new programs such as the America’s Warrior Partnership Network, a digital coordination center that provides local veteran-serving organizations with a connection to national resources when a veteran’s requests cannot be met locally.

The Community Integration Annual Survey is unique in that it incorporates the Adult Hope Scale, created by C.R. Synder, to evaluate an individual’s hope based on a series of 12 items. Results from past surveys have shown a correlation between the Adult Hope Scale and the questions America’s Warrior Partnership and its community partners use in the field to quickly measure an individual’s quality of life by evaluating their ability to adapt and bounce back from hardships.

Veterans and community members who wish to participate in the 2020 Annual Survey can complete the online questionnaire on the America’s Warrior Partnership website.
